VOCALIST DIOGO JONES ON NEW MUSIC, METAL 2 THE MASSES AND TOCSTOCK: THE REVENGE
In this special episode of the Ragamuffin Music Podcast, James catches up with Soldiers of Rage founder, vocalist and guitarist Diogo Jones ahead of the band’s appearance at TOCstock: The Revenge on Friday 9 October.
Diogo traces Soldiers of Rage back to their beginnings in Portugal in 2014 and the long road to releasing their debut album, New Age of Inhumanity, a decade later.
He also talks about the band’s groove and thrash metal influences — including his all-time favourite band, Lamb of God — their experience competing in Metal 2 The Masses, and why events that showcase emerging artists are so important to the grassroots scene.
With a second album due in October, Diogo reveals why they’ve chosen to push beyond their established sound and what the TOCstock crowd can expect to hear next month.
